TAD Days 24 25
I’ve been gifted a brand new sewing machine, so been a little bit occupied. Good things will come of this. I am so grateful! Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

TAD Day 23
I added some beads to my daisy. It got pretty time consuming. Should I add another round? Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

The last of the three flower patterns I found on MyLifetime.com.  All three patterns were excerpted from “Crochet Embellishments” by Jean Leinhauser.   Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

TAD - Days 7 & 8
Only a few more days to do hearts before Valentine’s Day.  I’ve always wanted to try a doily, and I found this lovely  Heart Coaster/Mini Doily on CrochetDoilies.com.  Proprietor Leslie, the “Crochet Queen,” is a true master crocheter.  She’s got tons of beautiful doily patterns on her site.  This is just one of many she offers for free!  She also has a great...

TAD - Day 7
Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood of http://craftsanity.com tweeted about these Jumbo Hexagon Granny squares yesterday and I just had to try one. Lucy over at Attic24 (http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/hexagon-howto.html ) presents the most detailed tutorial that even a beginner like me could follow without frustration. Thanks Lucy!! TAD - Day 6
A little late.  Another attempt at Amigurumi Crochet.  This time it’s a heart ( in case you couldn’t tell).  Ran out of pink yarn.  Hence, the two-tone effect.  Definitely want to revisit this technique once I get some smaller hooks.  It is quite fun.  I found this pattern over at http://www.roxycraft.com/crochet_hearts.htm Thank you Tamie Snow. Pretty in Pink Crochet Heart
TAD Day 6 One more heart. Learned a cool scalloping technique. It was easier than I thought. What would you use this for? I’m stumped with what to do with it? It measures 6” x 5.5” Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

Home is Where the Heart Is - TAD Day 4
Obviously I’ve gotten bit by the crochet bug. Dang, like I need another craft interest. My only salvation from this rabbit hole is that I don’t have that much yarn in my stash. Now, I wonder if I can find some crocheted Easter egg patterns. HELP ME!! I’m falling…. Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

Late for TAD Day Three
Still trying my hand at crochet. I’m starting to remember why I prefer knitting. Getting the hang of it though. Now I can use these flowers to cover up my mistake on the clutch I attempted recently. See the full gallery on posterous Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

Thing A Day Two - More Squares
This may become the quest for the perfect granny square. I was just trying to crochet a small flower. Quite a detour, but an unexpected pleasant experience. See the full gallery on posterous Posted via email from thing-a-day 2010 | Comment »

Ethical Living – Movement or Fad?
Although a little dated, August 24, 2007, I think this article on telegraph.co.uk brings up some of the same questions I’ve raised in regards to this whole ethical living, eco-friendly, green movement.  It’s worth noting that the comments to the article are as interesting as the article itself, so jump over to Do you practise ‘ethical living’? and check them out.  People are very opinionated on...

Cleaning Day in the Basement, Arrgh
The sun is out.  Beautiful Saturday morning.  Especially for November in Central Ohio.  So what are hubby and I doing stuck in the basement?  Because after his 4 day weekend we’re just getting to it.  Promises, promises.  Oh well, we said we’d do it.  Posted via web from Inspired Creatives | Comment »

Eco-friendly Timepiece
Well, someone had to come up with one, right?   I got to talk to Drew from E. Gluck Corporation Friday after I noticed their add in Accessories Magazine for an eco-friendly watch.  Mind you, this is an old school company.  They’ve been in the watch business since the 1950’s.  Their brands include Armitron, Anne Klein New York, AK Anne Klein, Lucky Brand, Badgley Mischka, JLO by Jennifer Lopez,...
